Of all the things I've tried to figure out, managing a team has been the hardest.
There are many reasons why. But the following three stand out:
- There's little actionable advice about leading a team. Most books and content online provide you with big ideas but little help to implement them into your management style.
- By the time you find out what you're doing wrong, it's been months (if not years). That probably lead to a ton of frustration in our team. It also means we missed out on opportunities to make our team perform at its absolute best.
- It's easy to procrastinate improving your management skills in your day-to-day. I have yet to see "Become a great manager" as an OKR or team goal. Most of us are incentivized to deliver results - however they may be measured - making it easy to put off leadership education.
Wouldn't it be nice to have a program that taught us how to become better (remote) managers? Without inspirational quotes? With advice from actual experts?
Join Remote Manager Circle: 60 minutes a month to become a great manager
This is exactly what we're putting together with Remote Manager Circle.
